Iman Shumpert and Jared Jeffries Close to Returning

Marc Berman of the New York Post reported today that Iman Shumpert and Jared Jeffries are both making good progress in returning to the court.

Shumpert said there is a chance he can return from his left-knee sprain by this weekend, perhaps Saturday in Detroit. Jeffries, who has a sprained left calf, could return in the next few days.

The Knicks readjusted Shumpert's brace, giving him more range of motion when tests showed he was "ahead of schedule.''
Getting both players back to the court would do wonders for the Knicks' bench and their rotations. Shumpert, while not a true point guard, is a fine ball-handler and the Knicks have missed his ability to get in the paint and break down defenses.

Jeffries doesn't provide really anything on offense, but he is great on the defensive end. Jeffries does all the little things like taking charges, tipping rebounds out, and he also should make a difference in the defense with his ability to guard multiple positions.

Let's hope the Knicks get both of these fellas back soon and start picking up some wins!
