Carmelo Anthony Out 1-2 Weeks With a Strained Groin

More good news for the Knicks (courtesy of Howard Beck):
Knicks say Carmelo will be out for 1-2 weeks because of strained right groin. No other tests scheduled.
Melo appeared to just strain it while running up the court, which seems kind of weird for a professional athlete. He wasn't sprinting, nor was their anybody even in close proximity to him; he just strained it.

This isn't particularly good news for the Knicks or Melo, who has been quite banged up this season. But if you want to look on the bright side, this may give Melo some time to let that wrist properly heal. In the meantime, Adam Zagoria notes that Shumpert and Bill Walker will get Melo's minutes, and Jonah Ballow states that Mike D'Antoni might even give Shumpert some burn at the SF spot.

At the very least, it will be fun to watch the lineups that D'Antoni throws out there. I believe Steve Novak should have earned himself some more minutes after his performance last night. Keep in mind too, that Amar'e Stoudemire will eventually be back (I'm guessing by Friday's game against the Lakers), so the Knicks won't be completely devoid of scoring. This concludes my scattered thought paragraph.
