Knicks vs. Nets Notes

Tonight at 7:30 the Knicks taken on the Nets in MSG and seek their ninth win in ten games! A win tonight would put the Knicks over .500 for the first time since they were 6-5 heading into Oklahoma City! I already did a preview for the Nets when the two teams met earlier in the season, so I'll just offer up some notes for tonight's matchup.

 - Baron Davis is expected to make his Knicks debut tonight! That is really exciting, not only because he was viewed as the savior up until Linsanity began, but because it means he actually is living, functioning, semi-healthy basketball player! Also, it means he could spell Jeremy Lin for at least a few minutes.

 - Carmelo Anthony will return tonight and Tyson Chandler (as you can see in that tweet) will play! Chandler is "sore", but able to play which is good. We'll get to see how well Melo fits in with Lin, but I bet it will go fine. Moreover, I bet he's going to try exceptionally hard to prove all of the doubters wrong.

 - Iman Shumpert will not play tonight as he has a nagging knee thing. Get well soon, Shump Shump.

 - I expect Deron Williams to come out in full force tonight, since Lin dominated him in the last matchup and thus started Linsanity.

 - Haven't seen this officially listed anywhere, but I had heard that Brook Lopez will be out tonight since it's the third night of a back-to-back-to-back for the Nets. Also, it's the third night of a back-to-back-to-back, Knicks. Finish 'em early.

That's pretty much it. Knicks should take advantage of playing a slightly lesser team tonight before taking on Atlanta and Miami later this week. Go Knicks!
