The Knicks managed an impressive half against the Indiana Pacers last Friday without Baron's services, and had an impressive four quarters Saturday against the Pacers without him, so this doesn't feel like too worrisome of a situation. In some ways I'm actually relieved that Baron's given that nagging hammy some more rest; I'd hate to see him rush back and tweak it and sit him out for longer. No Baron Davis tonight for the Knicks
Point guard also isn't necessarily a barren position with out Davis (ha ha). Jeremy Lin's minutes have decreased as Davis has gotten healthier, but we know he's capable of playing 35-40 minutes a game. Iman Shumpert is better off the ball, but he can play spot minutes. Mike Bibby filled in admirably last game and provided some shooting and generally good hustle. And Toney Douglas is back and from the sounds of it, raring to go.
So, giving Baron some more time off isn't too big of a deal.
