Perhaps there will be some lineup changes tonight; UPDATED

With Tyson Chandler and Jared Jeffries both likely to miss tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, it seems that Mike D'Antoni might tinker with the lineup a little bit more. From Jonah Ballow:
ChandlER gametime decision, Jeffries OUT, & potential starting lineup changes. Could see small lineup w/ STAT at center
Update from Steve Popper:
Knicks likely to go small - Amar'e at center, Melo at PF, Shumpert, Fields and Lin. D'Antoni said he'll decide after walk-through
Likewise, there's some talk (seemingly definitive talk) that Iman Shumpert will be placed back on the bench.

Not sure how I feel about all of this. The Knicks are a team in transition, clearly struggling with continuity. Are more lineup changes really the best thing? Of course, some of it comes out of necessity. Last game, minus Chandler and Jeffries, the Knicks started Josh Harrellson and Amar'e together and were very thin upfront, thus Jerome Jordan was called up. By possibly placing Amar'e at center, it gives the Knicks a little more size off the bench.

The Shumpert-Fields tinkering is a little puzzling. Fields had played poorly against Boston and Dallas, so was D'Antoni trying to send a message by cutting Landry's minutes even further. However, the word that Shumpert won't start does not necessarily imply that Fields will be placed back at the two position. There still is a possibility that J.R. Smith is inserted into the starting five, though that seems like a stretch.

My guess is D'Antoni is frustrated, feeling the heat, and is trying to find something that works; something to give the team some new life. We'll see as the day goes on how the lineups develop, and of course, we'll see tonight how they all work. More later.
